Since 1947 we have our own way in refreshing our guests: on the physical and also mental plains. In fact: the wines and almost all the meat and vegetables are directly produced by us; in the weekend we offer to you parties with living music and dances in our large hall. So on the one hand we guarantee you in the best genuineness of the food, on the other hand we often give to you the occasion to spend some relaxing hours in cheerful company.

All in the familiar atmosphere that distinguish us, also reinforced by the look of the structure and the furniture of our building, subdivided in some rooms of various dimensions, from the bar to the fireplace (‘fogolar’) one, from the group’s room to the pergola at the entrance. The Osteria AL LIRON (in friulian language ‘liron’ is the name of the english double bass) has also a touristic accommodation, recently enlarged with more rooms in a new building in internal court. Then we are happy to offer now a complete service also to the tourists who want stay some more in Cividale for visiting his nice hilly environment in the southern part of the municipal district. |

Our Cooking
On the tables of the Osteria AL LIRON never fails the dish (both as snack and as appetizer) full of our cured meats of pork breed by us: salame, rolled chop, bacon…, all tasty and, over all, with high quality. In the first courses , the classic pastas (tagliatelle and gnocchi) are always enriched with abundant sauces, as the ones with duck, wild boar, mushrooms and walnuts. Another our speciality are ravioli with Montasio cheese. The second courses range from the classic dishes (as Frico with potatoes and cooked Salame with onion) to the more elaborate ones as the pork shin, duck, rabbit, kid of our production, and game as wild boar and hare. The various kinds of meat are prepared both fried and backed and grilled. Among several sweets, there are always Strudel and Tiramisu.
To these dishes of our tradition every week we add some different recipes.
Also for the wines in the Osteria al Liron you do not run risk: the wines of the house are all of our production as Friulano, Merlot, Cabernet, sweet Verduzzo. At your discretion an accurate choice of bottled wines of the local area.

The Genuineness, the Familiarity, the Cheerfulness that distinguish our Osteria come from two particular elements: our vineyard on the hill where we continue the production of the wines with which 60 years ago we opened the Osteria and a large field where we created a garden with a big hen house in which dozens of animals, freely grazing, supply to the our kitchen fresh and tasty meat and vegetables... |
...the passion for the music of the founder of the Osteria, who for his guests along decades of years has played with great ability both the accordion and the double bass. The tradition of the weekend parties with music and dancing continues now at the Liròn thanks to the that passion still strong in the daughter and the grand-daughter.

Touristic accommodation in the Holiday farm RONCHI DI FORNALIS

The rooms of the Osteria Al Liròn (with 2-3-4 beds) are recommended because the farm Ronchi di Fornalis is the same owner of the Osteria and so can offer large space, absolute quiet in the internal court with garden and a very good price: € 25/person breakfast included.
